"We've got a weak southwesterly swell at 2.3 feet and some short period chop from the west, which means today's going to stay fair across the board but nothing worth calling your boss about. The south-facing stuff down in San Diego has a slight edge because they're catching that angle better, but even then you're looking at waist-high walls with a lot of shoulder and not much juice. Mid-week turns mushy as that westerly wind swell takes over and the period compresses down to nothing, so Thursday's going to be a skip day for most of us. But here's where it gets interesting, mate, because come Friday that longer interval energy starts rebuilding, and by Saturday we're looking at nearly three feet of proper SSW swell with twelve-second periods showing up on the buoy. Sunday's the day to clear your schedule, straight up, four-plus feet of south swell stacking in before it backs off early next week. The points are doing their thing this whole stretch, but the exposed beachbreaks and reefs will light up proper when that window opens over the weekend."
